Andy the Autistic Anchovy is a little fish I drew to express some of my frustrations with life as an autistic person. I started Andy in 2019, only a few months after being diagnosed with autism. I had had some of these problems for years and years, but it was only with the diagnosis that I realized that I wasn’t doing anything wrong and that it wasn’t my fault. I thought others might feel the same way, and so I drew my little fish.

Andy is based off of my own experiences, for the most part. I am not representative of the entire autistic community, nor is everyone’s experience the same. Hopefully Andy can provide a bit of insight and education to those who don’t quite understand life with autism, and a bit of comfort and solidarity to those who understand all too well.
